Your promise preserves my life!

Psalm 119:50

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life!

It is true that people suffer, that there are hardships in this world, and that sometimes we feel abandoned by God. Has He left us alone to face all of this? After all, He is the God of love and goodness, so where does all the hate, evil and suffering come from? From our own hearts, simply.

If we were all able to be God-like, as Jesus was, if we weren't simply human, then we WOULD live in a utopia. We would be in heaven. Where God promises we someday will be. Know this - God does not create the hate, the hurt and the anger, we do.

God does not promise that he will banish all hate, fear, hurt, suffering, anguish - all those things that plague our lives on earth. But God does promise that He will help us through it all, that He will forever be with us in our suffering, feeling the pain with us, guiding and supporting us and helping us up when we fall.

And so the writer of the psalm realises this. He knows that in his suffering there is hope, a promise of help, guidance, release, assistance, love. And it is that promise that comforts him, the same promise that can comfort you - God's promise, that He will never leave you, nor forsake you.

Take comfort and strength from the knowledge that God is watching over you now.

See Ya Soon,

May God bless you today and forever!
